Last Day - Onward to Jacksonville

Last morning on Tybee Island

Today was our last day for sight-seeing. We had a few things left to see in Savannah, so after breakfast at The Sugar Shack on Tybee Island, we headed back into Savannah's downtown district. We started at Forsyth Park.  We hadn't made it this far on our first day, and we wanted to see the fountain. We had a bit of a wait because a wedding was taking place right at the front of the fountain, but we arrived as the bride was headed down the aisle, and the vows went pretty quick.

A bonus: our photographer, Shawn, was doing a couple of shoots in the park today and had our photo disk ready, so we were able to get that from him in person to avoid waiting on the mail. Now, if we only had a device with a CD drawer handy... I guess we'll have to wait one more day to see those beach shots.

After walking by the Mercer House, we returned to Saint John the Baptist Cathedral so we could view the inside since we arrived right at closing time two days before. This reminded me of churches I saw in Germany. 

Then it was time for the drive down I-95 to Jacksonville. We arrived around 4:00, and relaxed a bit before deciding on dinner at Longhorn Steakhouse. It's been a good get away, and we hope Mom enjoyed her birthday trip. Until next time!
