Georgia Coast - Day 1

We left Oklahoma City super early this morning on a flight to Atlanta. This was mom's first time on a plane, and the first flight went fine. The second leg, from Atlanta to Jacksonville, was a little bumpy, and mom didn't care for that one as much. We made it, though, and it was time to grab the rental car and head north to Tybee Island.

After a little more than two hours in the car, we checked into the Ocean Plaza Beach Resort, soon to be renamed Hotel Tybee.  We have a top-floor, ocean-view room with a balcony. It was very windy and cold when we arrived today, and we expect some rain tomorrow, but we hope to catch a sunrise one of these mornings.

After getting settled, we explored a bit of the downtown area near our hotel and then decided to have dinner at Fannie's On The Beach. Mom got a huge order of nachos, Mary had mahi tacos, and I had shrimp. We also shared some calamari. We left stuffed, and headed in for the night.
